Ague
A chill from a cold or fever.
Arthritis
Inflamation of the joints.

Breathing disorder in recurrent episodes.
Biliousness
an excessive secretion of bile.

Bronchitis
Inflammation of the bronchial mucous membrane.

Calculus
Accumulation of mineral salts in ducts or glands, same as for gravel and stone.
Catarrh
Inflammation of and supperation from the mucous membranes.
Chicken Pox
Contagious viral disease caused by herpes virus, transmitted through contact with skin lesions or respiratory droplets.
Cholera
An acute bacterial infection of the small intestine spread by water or food that is contaminated by the faeces of infected persons.
Consumption (T.B.)
chronic infection usually of the lungs by a bacillus transmitted by respiratory droplets.
Cough Whooping
Children's contagious respiratory disease spread by the infection of coccobacillus.
Cystitis
Inflammation of the urinary bladder and ureters, caused by bacterial infections, calculus or tumour.
Diabetes
A metabolic disorder characterised by excessive urination through deficiency of the antidiuretic hormone or lack of insulatin secretion.
Diptheria
An acute contagious disease caused by a bacterium, can be fatal.
Dropsy
Accumulation of watery fluid in the body tissues or cavities.
Elephantiasis (Filariasis)
Filariasis is a disease caused by microfilaria worms in the body tissue. After many years elephantiasis is an end-stage lesion of extreme swelling usually of the legs.
Epilepsy
an uncontrolled electric discharge from the nerve cells of the cerebral cortex. Associated with trauma, infection, tumour or chemical imbalance.
Fever
An elevation of the body temperate because of disease and an imbalance between the elimination and the production of heat. Delirium and convulsions may occur with a rapid rise in temperature.
Gangrene
Death of tissue as a result of loss of blood supply or bacterial invasion. Surgical debidement is necessary. Usually occurs in extremes but may also attend internal complications.
Gout
A disorder of the uric acid metabolism that increases production or inhibits excretion of uric acids which accumulate in the joints or other tissues. Diuretic drugs can alter the concentration of the uric acid.
Haemorrhage
Excessive bleeding from internal organs as a hematological condition or tendency.
Haemorrhoids (Piles)
Congestion in the veins of the hemorrhoidal plexus.
Hysteric Neurosis
A psychoneuroses from anxiety and conflict converted into hypochondria and an altered consciousness and identity.
Jaundice
Jaundice is symptomatic of many disorders and includes greater amounts of bilirubin in the blood.
Leprosy
Chronic disease transmitted by mycobacterium leprae depending on a persons immunity, recovery from nerve impairment is limited.
Leucorrhoea
a pruritic discharge indicating a gynaecological pathology.
Lock Jaw
a complication of jaundice.
Palsy
Tremors of the voluntary muscles.
Plague
Bubonic, pneumonic and septicemia from bacillus yersinia pestis which infects rat fleas first.
Pleurisy
Inflammation of the lung pleura from cancer, abscesses, tuberculosis and infection.
Pneumonia
Inflammation of the lungs caused by infection from pneumococci.
Quinsy
Peritonsillar abscess usually after tonsillitis.
Rheumatism
Structural degeneration of a part of the musculoskeletal system through inflammation of the muscles, ligaments or joints.
Scrofula
Tuberculosis with abscess formation usually of the lymph nodes.
Scarlet Fever
Acute contagious children's infection of streptococcus.
Sciatica
Inflammation of the sciatic nerve.
Strangury
Disease characterised by the slow and painful emission of urine.
Tetanus
Neurotoxin infection from bacillus clostridium tetani which invades dead tissue only.
Tonsillitis
Streptococcus infection causing inflammation of the tonsils.
Typhoid
A bacterial infection salmonella typhi, transmitted by contaminated food and water, causes a fever.
Typhus
Feverish disease from rickttsia infection transmitted by rat fleas.
Urethritis
An infection of the bladder or kidneys resulting in inflammation of the urethra.
Zymotic Disease
Any infectious disease.
