The index is designed to be used with the herbal by Mrs M Grieves 'A Modern Herbal' 1934, as it makes finding all the different herbs that can be used for a particular ailment or illness quick and easy.

This is a reference work for use with the Herbal by Mrs M Grieves.

The herbs are listed by the ailments they can be applied to, with a simple method of use, medical action, dangers and possible side effects.

The Grieves herbal is A-Z by the common botanical name, without an index of ailments, if you want to find all the various herbs that can be used for a single ailment you have to read the whole text, 900 pages of a vast amount of detailed information on the different applications and uses of herbs.

I have listed the ailments A-Z with the botanical common name of each herb, that can be used for a particular ailment, as this is the method of reference in Grieves, making it easy to find the relevent herbs within Grieves without reading all the 900 pages of Grieves.

Grieves is a wealth of information for the different uses of herbs, in more ways than just the medicinal, a second book which is in the process of being written, is about the applications of herbs in recipes, veterinary, herb cultivation, and other applications in everyday use. For anyone interested in herbs, students, herbalists, naturopaths and the layman as there are simple's.
